Question

As the title really ...

WOT 5th and my Defi gague goes to 1.3 (1.27ish bar) momentarily, then settles at 1.15 (1.13ish bar) ... should I worry?

When I had TEK1 and a Dawes, the overboost did not happen ... any thoughts?

Unfortunately, I fitted by boost gauge after the TEK 1 upgrade, so I do not know if this overboost is normal to a standard car or simply down to the upgrades ... any ideas please?

Steve

I think it's meant to hold 1.1 bar, so the .0x would probably be the guauge/gauge/guage/guaauge (delete as appropriate).

Never had overboosting with mine, which is a little odd. I'd have thought it would settle down, though - the ECU is probably still trying to work out what the hell is going on

I'd say not - if it's any help, my PPP (with Dawes) holds 1.3kg/cm2 from about 2700 until 5k with no problems. Of course, to be sure, you should order DeltaDash so you can check for yourself that everythings OK

Richard,

Guess you're right about Delta Dash ...

The TEK2 lifts the fuel cut as the PPP, otherwise my car would hit fuel cut at this initial overboost (18.5 PSI ish) ... is that right?

Any car with a decat and running PPP levels of boost with the OE solenoid will suffer from this (as will a standard decat to a lesser extent?). I guess suffer isn't really the right phrase though - as it gives a little kick just when it's required

It can be mapped out, but would then lead to slower boost target achieval. On a PPP it can lead to bad oscillations when ambient drops below around 8 degrees - but I believe EcuTek have remapped the tek2 boost control to cure this.
