Hi Mate
Yeah i know i can oem, just wondered as my engine is fully dressed if there was a nicer looking/performance part to use. ( the Cosworth Blue Kevlar timing belts look superb )
My power steering belt/pump is only 16,000miles old, but the bearing has a tight spot where it locks up.
Once the new one arrives i'll look into why the original has failed so early.
Cheers Dave.

I see, fair enough. that's pretty low milage for a failure, was it over-tight or maybe not tight enough?

I'm not aware of any alternatives, sorry.

Hi Mate
Power steering pump locked up and snapped the belt.
I got hold of the pump wheel and it would not turn clockwise, turned anti-clockwise and it then freed up, keep turning it then all of a sudden goes tight, it acts like there is a small piece of swarf in the bearing.
No play, no noises or whining, weird!!!
Cheers Dave.

I would change the pump then, sounds likely to happen again.

OE belt is fine but expensive, I bought mine from GGR, as good and paid less than half the price of the OE belt. Would pay more for a cam belt though.

I know, would expect to pay £30 for an air-con belt from dealer.
