you can keep the hks and use it as a re-circ valve by using an adaptor, will post a picture tomorrow on the photo gallery section.

The idea that dump valves must be able to "take" certain levels of power is a popular fallacy, at least in the way that many people imagine that they leak under boost or something like that. Don't forget that if you have 400bhp-worth of boost trying to blow the valve open, you also have 400bhp of boost plus the spring forcing it shut.

The bottom line is that the standard Subaru DV is capable of holding shut under 400-odd bhp, and because they're not adjustable, come with the added advantage of being impossible to set wrong. If the spring fails or weakens, you just chuck it and get another one.

Where there is sometimes is a genuine requirement for an aftermarket DV is where you are running more boost than the standard one can easily get rid of when you lift off. You'll know if this is happening because you'll hear the onset of compressor stall.

A number of aftermarket atmospheric valves aren't particular well suited here, as some of the whistles, tunnels, trumpets and other devices used to amplify/characterise the noise can actually restrict the flow out of the device, which is the last thing you want.
