hi, can anyone give me some advice on getting my 2002 sti ppp mapped in central scotland.
obviously A forrest is the main name everyone will suggest, does he only do ecutek maps or does he do any other types, and what rough prices are these.
car currently has k+n panel filter, straight through centre section and a afterburner vortex.
car has ppp, so the only cat is on the downpipe which will get de catted prior to mapping.
do ppp cars have uprated fuel pump, how can i check if it has one, if i open up fuel sender on tank etc what should it be like if it has a walbro fitted.
standard re circ is going back on to replace blitz supersound vta
should i go colder on the plugs also,
can anyone suggest any other supporting mods , and roughly what bhp figure should i expect.
any help would be great
cheers

Andy Forrest does Ecutek, ESL, Autronics and also does Simtek and Apexi installation.
It is the only person I have used and I will continue to use him.
There is also Alistair (Trackhound)

Also know Duncan Graham (Dynamix) travels to Scotland sometimes

AFAIK the uprated fuel pump is part of the PPP so you should already have one fitted, at your level I wouldent think the uprated PFR7's would be needed but better wait for someone with more knowelege to confirm.
Everything you need to know regarding ECU's, mapping and prices are on Andy's website.

There is only one person in scotland worth using for mapping subarus Grant and you have already mentioned him, if your worried about price then wait till you have the money for andy f, and he will be about the closest mapper to you and you'll enjoy the drive home...
+1. I have spoke with f4lak regarding this issue before (when he picked up my P1 wheels) and, yes, there are other mappers in Scotland cheaper than AndyF but a lot of them have just copied maps from other Subarus and transfered them to other cars and charged hundreds of pounds. When you think of the cost of a rebuild + labour, that extra hundred or two is worth EVERY penny.
Andys mapped two of my old Imprezas and I know for a fact that at least one was still going strong after a few years hard driving.

Just wait until I find sections of them written into another car......there will be trouble!!

Andy is this mapper from down my neck of the woods by any chance....
That's lunacy surely, apart from plagiarism issues will the car not be subject to the risk of going bang as it's effectively settings for another engine?
andy f mapped my wrx bug to 279bhp, with decatted turbo back, 255 fuel pump and K&N pannel filter, what a difference, think it was 550 for the 1st map just because u have to pay for a license for the ecu first time round then i think maybe 200 for any other maps after, but u pay for what you get, a man of unlimated knowledge, and has lots of time for his custommers, give u suggestions for more power, what he would do,and is willing to answer any questions u have on the car..... so in my opinion theres only one place for it,
may want to go on scottishscoobies.net for all the scots to suggest places

Its true what he says though, you can be good at many things but only be a master at one.
And theres a caravan park just across the road, Seaton Sands.
My suggestion is book a caravan, book Andy for a Friday morning, get it mapped, go to the caravan park after mapping and get blootered (scots for drunk)for the night on cheap drink, then head home in the morning.

Well the one I was referring to locally wasn't but I've just been made aware of yet another one down your way that's doing similar copying and even claiming to do Ecutek remaps when he doesn't even have a dealership!
As mentioned above, if they need to copy my work then they don't really know what they are doing and the cars they map are ticking time bombs........... the test of reliability over time will sort them out........eventually!
A local 'new start' very recently blew his own blocks liners apart and bent the crankshaft.....good effort
cheers

If i get an enquiry from someone in scotland I always refer them to Andy and everyone I have spoken to afterwards has been happy.
I have mapped a few cars that Andy previously mapped when he used to travel a lot more and owners always happy.
On the other hand I have spoken a number unhappy people having had their car done by others and referred them to Andy or remapped them myself.
Just take it to Andy.

Cheers Simon
There are a lot of cowboys out there, god knows how much they are costing customers with false fault diagnosis and longer term engine damage.
I have a trade customer who has someone local do his 'easy' upgrades ie a decat and filter (they just get a boost hike) the owner would have been even cheaper just fitting a manual boost valve to do the same job!
Anything a bit beyond him, like rescaling a big induction or injectors invariably gets sent to me complete with an unknown 'fault' stopping it from idling properly..........go figure!
