Default gearbox question

Hi all, im doing a vw conversion and need a 2000 on geabox as its an easier conversion....

My question is..... Will an earlier engine mate with a later gearbox with out any issues??

cheers, i only need the box and motor for a vw conversion...now is the ej25 the same mounting as the ej20?

if you are asking about gearbox mounting it depends
older classics have bit different mounting. less bolts than MY99/00 and newage. tansmission code 752 vs 754.
EJ20 was in classic and newage models. ej25 from hawk eye gearbox mounting should be the same as MY99 (code 754), but there is a difference in shafts.

Generaly it is possible to swap gearboxes from 96 till 07. (not sure about 08 or later).
