Question Flywheel Rattling?!

OK guys so not been on here for a long time due to scooby being off the road and son being born etc.

Scooby was off the road due to a knocking which I automatically put down to bottom end however when inspecting closer i realise that the noise seems to be coming from the gearbox area and the rattle stops when clutch is pressed.

Any ideas as to what this could be? New clutch was put in recently when head gasket and cam belt were done but wondering if fly wheel could be causing the knocking sound.

dont think it would the flywheel as theyre bolted to the engine....if that was loose you be getting a terrible vibration through the car. Sounds like its the clutch release bearing, was it not changed when you had the clutch done? The noise tends to disappear when foot is depressed due to their being pressure on the bearing keeping it still

Yep completely plausible, clutch release bearing usually shuts up after a few minutes but the flywheel if it's lightened of clutch if uprated with harder plate can rattle on deceleration and disappear when clutch is pressed.
