Default Air con pump newage to classic?????

Hi as above does any1 know if I can fit a newage aircon pump on to a my99 the only reason I ask is I've retrofitted aircon to my car and it all works apart from the pump makes a really annoying clicking noise on idle and is not as cold as other cars with aircon so I need to replace it anyway just wonder what would be the best corse of action cheers

It's supposed to click isn't it. If it's cutting in and out really quickly it's more likely a gas issue. I don't thing you can use a newage compressor. Who gassed it for you? Are you sure it has the correct amount in? It need putting on an ac machine any good technician should be able to diagnose what's wrong by watching the pressures! Can you bridge the low pressure switch? If so what happens?

Is it not just a case of replacing the compessor clutch then? Be cheaper than a compressor surely, either way I don't think a newage is suitable. I suppose it's all down to which type you hav fitted, variable swash or scroll type and what they fit to a newage. Best to stick to what you have IMHO.
