Default New engine/block?

hi,

it seems that my crank had gone (classic 99)...

i have 3 options at the moment: fix the engine, get another block ou another engine...

i'm more inclined for one of the last two options.

what do you recomend? a refurbished engine? a new block? forged or not (i dont do track)? short block?

i'm also trying to find a reasonable supplyer for this (warranty vs. cost).

thanks for the opinions.

I would imagine the best route for you to take with a standard car is a shortblock from your local dealer?

These are much cheaper on mainland Europe than the UK, the last one i priced for a 99 in Germany was 1290euro plus tax which at the time was19%

I would imagine any of the engine builders that trade on here would build you an engine and ship it out to you but that is going to cost.

yeap i know i have some money spending ahead...

i got a quote from the local subaru dealer and the price was crazy. 2*** €

did you get a quote just for the block? or complete closed block?
can you give me contact of the german guys?

...just got back from germany last week...lol

with the amount of subarus in the uk and specialized shops for it, i honnestlly though i would get a better deal.

i'll take a look for unfinished projects and also something might come up.
