Default Quick shift clunking??

Hi all, had my impreza for a week and the gearbox is clunky. It has quick shift and is sometimes hard to get into certain gears. Does anyone think the bushes or ball joint whatever could be perished and just need replacing???

Thanks Brando4000

pull your dip stick and check the colour of the gear box oil may need replacing as the linkage is pretty strong and doesnt give many problems mate.

Just checked the gearbox oil, its a nice golden colour. So what could this be, the gear linkage itself?

Default Engaging gears

Hi,
I own a WRX STI Type R and engaging gears is not as smooth as I would like either.
Having been to Goodwood Festival of Speed (I wasn't racing) I saw a demo of an oil additive that might help. It was called Activ8. Not cheap but it can be added to engines, gearboxes, etc and is said to improve fuel economy and re-polish worn components. I actually saw it do this on the metal to metal contact demonstration set up on the bench. I don't know much more than that but it might help.
Good luck!
