Just had our first official track day for the Irish Subaru Drivers Club this year at Mondello Park. Fantastic day until I was coming onto the tight bend leading onto the main straight. The corner is taken flat out in second and third is grabbed almost immediately upon the exit. Problem is that I was in 3rd for about 3 seconds and then BANG!! lots of metallic sounding noises from the car. I thought I broke a driveshaft. Got the car back to the pit crew and it was up on axle stands straight away with all wheels removed. Started the car in gear and all wheels were moving except the drivers side front. Anyone any ideas, gearbox, clutch or diff? The car is in the garage waiting for open heart surgery tomorrow.

Probably gearbox As the front diff is 'open' one wheel can sit stationary whilst the other 3 turn. If you tried to stop the front wheel that was turning, the other side would start to spin. (assuming ur diff is ok)

I am hoping that it is the gearbox as I can get my hands on one for £290.
