6 speed in a GB270 wagon
has anyone swapped a 6 speed in to a gb270. Already broken my gearbox once and now looking for a bit more power so will need to do something with the box. Any ideas or suggestions???
thanks

Providing you use a UK 6 speed box fitting will be a doddle.
No need to mess about with rear diffs. Just a straight forward swap of box and prop shaft.
Even the 5 speed clutch and flywheel will fit.

Be carefull to check what rear diff is in your car.
IIRC it is not the same as a 6 speed jobbie, as the later hawkeye 2.5 WRX based cars use a 4.111 diff.
You would be best off getting a later 6 speed out of a 2004 onwards STi, which will allow you to use your front driveshafts, and then get a R160 UK rear diff out of a pre 2006 UK WRX car.
That should make for the easiest swap.
