can anyone help my check engine light has just came on and wondered if anyone on here can explain to me how i can manually check this as my car has been playing up all day (jerking then stallin) my car is a 1994 import wagon wrx or if anyone is from braintree i can meet you ,

look under dash board roughly where your knee is there will be 2 black connectors and a green one. these sometimes can be tied back up if not done before. you need to connect the 2 blacks together then turn key to second click and Check light will flash. it will be slow pulses for ten the a sucession of quick pulses for 1 etc. then say for instance its your maf sensor (code 23) would be 2 slow pulses followed by 3 quick ones. if there is more than one the second set of pulses is the next fault code. Sounds like it could be maf or coil packs to me.

 

2nd that sounds like what mine did when the maf went down

think the flash code is 23, 2 long flashes and 3 short IIRC??
