Vauxhall VXR Power Events - Knockhill
What a cracking afternoon out
Thrashing a Corsa, Astra and Insignia VXR around Knockhill. I know that the cars are not beloved of the motoring press but they were all fun on track (apart from when the Insignia Estate ran out of brakes on me!) and hats off to Vauxhall for organising these days and allowing Skoda drivers on them
I managed 12 drives, 3 laps each (many more as the instructors were quite relaxed) all for £95.
Anyone else going ot the other days throughout the country?
Steve

There are a few of these events around, Vauxhall are unlike IM in their ways and dont even mind you taking your car on track events
and you retain your warranty
but yes, good events to go to!

The Insignia was fast but too heavy for the tight track.
The Astra was quick but I couldn't get away with the on/off throttle. I understand why most mappers make this a bit more progressive. It was impossible to balance the throttle and feed in a nice smooth power delivery.
The Corsa was great! Quick (I could pass the Astras) and nicely adjustable on the throttle! I would consider one - for my wife - that I could play with as well.

almost agree
Corsa was good fun and enough power for the chassis
Astra had too much power for the chassis and just felt a bit unfinished
Insignia felt heavy initially but when you adapted your driving style it was very capable and also lots of fun!
