Default Reliable non dealer servicing in Kent

Hi All

Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for servicing and repairs in Kent as opposed to the usual main dealers. I have a problem with my 53 plate wrx ppp, had it serviced a year ago at Waldonways and mentioned that I had transmission whine when in 4th and 5th gears, they subsequently told me that everything was okay and that it was not worth bothering about. I've been obviously concerned over the last year or so as this sounds like an expensive gearbox prolem if i wanted to rectify it, however I'm now experiencing a harsher noise now in third gear and am not sure if this is again gearbox related or clutch.

Any recommendations on who to take it to (Kent) and what damage (£££) would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Richard

Thanks for the reply incarsolutions I noticed that the noise actually comes in at around 40mph and is also there in 4th and 5th gears just not so noticible because it gets drowned out by the general road noice. I checked the gear box oil level which was fine and certainly the oil was clean and not contaminated. I wondered perhaps whether it could be a wheel bearing so jacked the car up and checked for play on each wheel but everything felt okay. A bit of a mistery certanly the gearbox and clutch feel fine!
