I know how difficult it is to diagnose noises over here but just wondered how common this is. I have had a look through loads of threads and keep seeing it just popping up in other peoples threads about different whines.
When in any gear if I gently push the stick to the left or right I get a really quiet straping noise. The best description I can think of is, it sounds like a metal on metal noise. Barely audible, I only heard it because I had the windows up and the stereo off. It doesn't jump out of gear and changes gear nicely still. Does have a 2nd gear whooop whooop whooop on over run and a 5th gear very feint whine.
