Exclamation Whats this dip stick for??

Hi all,
as you can probably guess im new round here and also on the scout for some info. A mate recommended me here but im not sure if he said if he was a member so im off to a great start I think lol!

-anyway I hope you can shed a little light on something for me, I'm a new owner of a classic Turbo 2000 and ive been looking round the engine and found a dip stick that seem to go into what I would assume is the LSD? The dip stick is situated right near the turbo and is shorter than the engine oil stick, i don't have an owners manual to tell me what it is but more importantly what oil it is and were I need to fill it up as its just on the top of the low marker.

Also im a bit stuck for a Haynes manual as they don't seem to do one for the impreza could anyone give me an idea of a good book that is similar to one, or if anyone might have a spare owners manual lol...

Thanks all

yes mate that is the gearbox dipstick, if you are gonna top up i suggest you do it via the dipstick tube as its a pain doing it from underneath. Either use a piece of garden hose or a magazine cover and roll it up so that it acts as a funnel and allows you to pour the oild own through to the tube.

Got it about a week or to ago mate, so I've given it a good clean, claybar and some proper elbow grease :-) I will post a few picks as soon as I can. She's completly standard apart from a cat back exhaust, I have a few plans for her but as mad as is sounds I want to try and keep it as original as I can lol
