Default Clunking noise from the rear of JDM sti 2003

I have a 2003 jdm sti. When driving it slowly or pulling off slowly I get a clunking noise that sounds like it's coming from the left rear wheel of the car. I've had it up on a ramp and checked all bolts etc for anything that might be loose. All good. But when I rotated the wheel it seemed to have abit of play. But im guessing thats just the LSD? right? If anyone can give me more info on jdm sti and if their rear diff is a problem or what it might be if you have come across it? cheers

I have exactly the same from my 2005 STI Type UK. I asked TSL about it and they said that the DCCD can be quite 'clunky' at low speeds.

I have a knocking nearside back suspension. Have been advised that it's normal and not to worry about it.

The DCCD is extremely clunky at low speeds turning, I try to remember to turn it off (if I've remembered to turn it on). Mind you, that seems to come more from the centre of the car.

It sounds like you have the age old problem of knocking rear shocks, or as others have said the dccd can be a bit clunky at low speeds.

Cheers guys for the info. I was thinking it was the rear shocks because it only started doing it lately but wasnt to sure thought it might be dccd too (rear diff). It started happenin after i got uprated anti roll bars, but dont think that affected it.
