hi all, i have a 2001 bugeye wrx ppp. i have just fitted a de catted down pipe and a uprated walbro 255 fuel pump and was thinking about a ecu chip as a next step. could anybody give me any figures on what it would be producing after a ecu chip. i wasn't to sure on bhp increase as i dont know what the increase would be based on. for example if the chip gave me a 20% increase in bhp, would that 20% be based on the standard wrx 225 bhp or the uprated prodrive 260 bhp. thankyou

 

A proper re-map will get you up around 280 bhp. Forget chips they are only useful with vinegar and fish....
1. Lose the catted up-pipe a 2nd hand STI item is ideal.
2. Find a mapper to do the job.
3. Buy some new brake pads ready....

Do aftermarket chips actually exist for New Ages (apart from Prodrive WRX and STi PPP ECUs)?!

 

Get a re-map fella from someone who knows subaru's. It may cost u more in the short term but save u a hell of alot in the long run. I personally would recommend JGM(jollygreenmonster.co.uk) but there are many other good mappers on here. Worth speaking to JGM or others before you spend your hard earned

 

If I was to do it all again I think I would have an open source map seem to get the same results for half the price.
