Default Classic clutch change

Hi guys, i've just bought my first scooby and love it, however a 56 miles country road rally from eastbourne to london on saturday has seen my clutch bearing to the end of it's life... Whining like a bugger now(unless clutch is dropped) and i have slight slipping on hard pull off.

Anyway i've got a new clutch kit and quite handy on the tools so dont mind changing it myself...

I've been looking for a photo diary of a change on here to help me on my way, but cant seem to find a thread?

Any help please?

Thanks
Leighton

Hey thanks guys... Thats a great help...

Gotta say i'm a bit confused with the bearing and fork issues... Mine came strait off! Or is that a bad sign? I'm finished for the day anyway, i'll look in the light tomorrow before i refit it all..

When the pivot rod is removed the fork just just pull straight up, then when refitting put the fork into the bearing using abit of copper slip then reinstall the pivot rod again hope that helps

It must be my luck really, but i dont think i have a wrx box on my car? The fork doesnt go into the bearing it goes up behind it... Mine has a cable not hydrolic, so maybe thats why... I've sussed this car used to be a automatic at one point and been converted!

That was also why my box 'came strait off' because the pivot was behind and not in it...

I hope this clutch is right... Anyway, my pal let me down today so no extra hands to fit the box... So i got a clutch realignment tool and refitted the pressure plate and disk!

Sounds like you've got a Non-Turbo gearbox, with a cable operated 'push type' clutch

Well aint it sods law... Its definately not a wrx box, i think it's a sport one...

The interesting bit... Put it all together today and where ive got a wrx pressure plate but no hydrlic pedal.. Its as hard as a truck to push down now!!

Its got dark now so cant run it till tomorrow when i put intercoolers and pipes back on...

If its too bad i'll have to change it!! ****...

Gets right on my **** when people cant do a job proper in the first place... Who goes to all that trouble to fit a manual box on thier wrx and fits a sport one???
