I've got a high pitched squeak coming from the nearside rear wheel when the car is warmed up and after driving 6 + miles. It goes away on applying the brakes but returns a few seconds later, goes away on hand brake or foot.

Is it a pad issue or maybe a wheel bearing?

I'll be able to investigate it properly on Saturday, but any advice welcome.

Well, took the wheel off at the weekend, but couldn't see anything causing a problem, pads are fine, no play in the bearing. But noise still there.
Any suggestions?

 

When the brakes are all cooled down, get the water hose and spray water onto the disc and between pads and disc to get rid as much brake dust as possible and then go for a drive to dry the brakes and see if the squeak sound still there. Worth a try.

had the same thing with mine mate,

you need to strip the brakes down and grease up the pins and clean off as much gunk as you can.

A brake service will cure your squeaking..
