Default Goal of 330-340

Right finally got a goal, somewhere near 330 to 340. or as close as.

I need someone to recommend a turbo which is good spool up, and get me to 60 as quick as possible. Preferably the turbo pulling right to redline.

Mods done, FPR, 440's already in as standard, parralel fuel mod, catch can, sti8 intercooler, panel filter, ported headers, fully decatted, 3 port solenoid.

So is there anything else that can be done?

And the big question which turbo??

Thanks

The vf34 isn't that ball bearing? What was the spool like etc, I need to get this car going, and want it to be a beast. Had enough of fannying around.

James, what car you driving about now, I still don't know.

A vf34/35 or a TD05 16g, engine doesnt make any difference (classic or new age?) gearbox will die with a 20g along with the clutch, atleast your ecu is mappable which will save you some money, but the brakes suck (changed mine on my first, new MY00 and that was with 215bhp).

Resonator delete and a VF28. Cheap as chips. Should be around 320bhp with that turbo and costs around £150-£200.

I's stick with the VF34/35 get the Harvey Ported headers and up-pipe to further improve spool. The 16g will make that kind of power - if you want fast spool don't get the sr40!

Well, if you'll be happy at stopping at no more than 340bhp then I reckon the VF35 is going to be the quickest spooling for that limit.

You might just have enough fuelling on the 440cc with upped pressure on the FPR, but I'd be inclined to swap 'em for 550cc, to be totally sure. Also the VF35 will be blowing as hard as hell when talking the 340bhp mark and you may, or may not, make it. Realistically, I'd set your goal on 320 with that tubo - if it makes more, then bonus!

If you wanted to be sure of getting 340bhp - and then some! - then for me, a no brainer would be those 550s as mentioned, plus a TD05H 18g from either harvey or Andy F.

Be aware though, that you could make anything from 350-370bhp on this turbo on SUL, so that's not gonna help with the gearbox side of things!....

Actually prob not a good idea to go for the 18g after all - gotta think about your WRX lump's std internals (as well as the 'box)...

You think the 4 pots are ok? and tbh, you will have to replace a fair bit for the 2 pots, and they aint worth it or the hassle, far better just upping the braking power on the front (and then seeing how crap the standard 4 pots really are )
