Default like driving on ice

recently changed my wheels/tyres and brakes

really happy with the brake set-up and love the wheels

but i feel like ive got no grip, its like im driving on ice. the car doesnt feel secure and planted anymore? ive got no confidence going into corners like before.

i had 16" bridgestones on before and now have yoko prada, 215/40/17's

is it just the combination of more tyre in contact with the slippery road conditions around just now?

are they going to improve in summer

cheers

I used bridgestone potenza and then tried yoko prada and thought they were sh1te, cr@p in the corners. took them straight off and went back to the bridgestone..

How many miles have you done on the tyres??? when new they have a waxy coating on them and they need breaking in.

only done about 30 miles mate - thanks for input f4lak - ijust shelled out for these, so they will get used, but if it doesnt drastically improve, ill never buy them again.

ive plenty of experience with cars, drivin literally 1000's - but this was quite possibly up there witht the worst

markietay i think it might just be a case of that - ill monitior over the coming weeks

cheers

Paradas are fairly hard rubber so might not be at their best in current greasy/cold conditions. Not used them myself but have had them recommended as a decent tyre for track days on dry concrete. Should improve when you get some dry miles on them.

The Paradas are awful in this kind of weather, but will be fine in the summer.

went from bridgestone potenza to prada spec 2,because they came with my alloy wheel package. And they r ****e... took 10mph of my cornering speed ill never have prada again. Can't wait fore them to wear out..ive got to use them cant justify the expence to just replace them. sodding things dont seem to be wearing out either.

Brand new tyres need to be driven for 200 to 300 miles to bed in. Judge them after that.
