Exclamation Scoobynet Snow Alert

As a service to all Scoobynet Members- Could you post up "Realtime" snow reports for your locality.

Accuweather reports heavy snow in Welwyn Garden City right now. I can confirm there is not a single flake coming down right now though!

Toronto: -9C, and with windchill -16C. No snow falling at present but a 10 - 20 percent chance overnight.

Nope they don't. My wife travels into work on the train and apart from the odd delay now and then due to frozen points, they run perfectly well.

The main roads and highways are cleared very quickly as well.

The difference here is that it is known that we'll get a fair amount of snow and so we are set up to deal with it. The UK isn't set up to deal with 4 - 6 inches, let alone the amount that has been and continues to fall.

Markus we are only prepared for nothing happening, the storm drains cant cope with heavy rain the tube cant cope with heat and the trains cant cope with cold or snow and the roads they just let shut for any weather, flooding, snow , heat melting the road surface.

On the news they keep telling us how many hundred of millions we are loosing each day as people arent getting into work then they follow that with saying the trains arent running and they cant grit the road network properly as they have run out of grit! Oh and now they are talking about us running out of gas so we cant run heating how we will cope when we are on wind energy?

The problem is that nobody is going to loose their job over the transport system not working, the whole attitude in Britian is to find reasons not to do things rather that to find ways to achieve the results needed.

P.S. light snow just started falling in Harlow at 1am

Absolutely right except you forgot to mention how we pay more council tax than ever these days, money which is supposed to pay for road maintenamce and gritting etc.

No further snow in Rossendale, Lancs overnight.

Might try and defrost the GT3 today it is buried up beyond the sills!

No snow, but no thaw out either in Leominster (Herefordshire)

However, there are some VERY ominous-looking clouds in the sky - they certainly look menacing......

There's a good probability of an update later on!!

Snow ... snow and more snow here in East Sussex. It looked like very small flakes that possibly would turn into rain, but now big snowflakes are falling. All very picturesque as long as you don't have to go out in it of course ...
