Just been out to do the configuring on the KS3. Set the boost controller to "low" setting (1.25 bar on RR but see 1.4 on the road) Tesco 99
I left the gain figure at 7 (as supplied) but soon found this was much too low as I was seeing readings of only 4 or 5 on the screen. I re-set the gain to 15 and saw 33 using 75% throttle in 4th Re-set to 18 and got similar results, but one run in 5th must have provoked a bit of det as I got a high of 82! I've left it at that for the moment and have set the alert to 45
What gain settings have you set, to achieve readings of around 40?
Any comments would be welcome!

Have to admit, I'm not too impressed with the alert system on this device. I set the alarm threshold to 20 (lowest figure available) just to see what the alarm was like. I could hear the alarm but the LED display was not bright enough, and unless you pressed the re-set, it gave no more warnings if you exceeded the threshold again! This thing should give you warnings without having to re-set, indeed, when you press the re-set, you also loose the max. figure you hit! If you have a very loud car and have Classic FM tuned up really loud
you need to have it mounted in your eyeline. Hmm - Although an improvement, it's not quite the all singing and dancing device I thought it would be, over the Knocklink!

Hi John,
I find the alerts to be fine, but I guess it will depend on where you have mounted it? Personally I only want the alarm to trigger the once and not repeatidly, but I guess everyone has a preference.
Miles ahead of knocklinks imho.

If you've ever seen the Knocklink light up all four LED's you'll know what I mean! (only ever seen the "big red" once, fortunately!) The tiny, single LED in the KS3 is a bit limp in comparison. Don't get me wrong, the KS3 is indeed a step up and well recommended, it's just that I would have liked the warnings a little bit more "frightening"
