Default Do i Need A remap???

I had a remap few months back on my classic my00, where i was running full 3.5" decat, k & n panel filter and a standard TD04 turbo.
I have just fitted a new VF24 turbo to it now and was wondering will it be ok to run or will it have to be mapped again? i have noticed since fitting turbo that under full boost the is a little black smoke coming out and that it does seem really laggy - turbo seems so start boosting around 3500rpm is this normal?
