Default Change Of ECU

I have just bought a 95 WRX thats supposed to be at 296bhp and have to admit it feels more than that but not sure what ECU it is running yet and its running 0.95 bar. I also have a 94 Sti V1 im stripping after it got written off. It has a SA ECU, if I put that in the car will there be any performance change?

Find out how it's running 296bhp as they are only 260ps (256bhp) as standard.
The STI ecu will be less powerful 250ps

sound will find that out. I know its got the usual like an Apexi induction kit, Full decat exhaust, dumpvalve, will have to look at the fuel pump as its supposed to be a upgraded. Will take the ecu out and have a look at it aswell. But the sa one was chipped and mapped to run over 300bhp, meant to say that and it had induction kit, straight thru exhaust, 255 fuel pump, samco hoses, dumpvalve, etc. But got a fmic ordered aswell as yellow injectors.
Got a 98 Type Ra gearbox and rear diff, but wouldnt mind sourcing a 6 speed, how much are they going for? 1k or closer tp 2k? Ive had a search but cant seem to find a great deal on them.

Think David at Welcome to the API website can supply 6speed boxes and rear diff think they may be more than 2k though.
Even if he can't supply i'm sure he can point you in the direction of someone who can.

If you are uprating the injectors then i would guess the chipset in the SA ecu (or your ecu at the mo) may not like them unless it can be remapped.

i spoke to the guy that had my sti a couple of owners before the one i got it off and he said it had been remapped, but i know i cant believe everything been told. If thats the price of the box I will have to sell a bit more of the sti first then lol.

A bit more off the ecu topic but do the likes of installing a fuel regulator and an oil catch help the car much?
And is there any other mods like that which will increase the power of the car?
