Default A couple of questions answered please.

Trying to make my mind up on my next car. Either evo 5 or 6 or type r, or ra. On the type r and ra are there any known problems? I.e the dccd going wrong? If so is it expensie to replace/fix? Im trying to get as much info as i can before i decide. One of the reasons i ask about the dccd is that on my 7 the ayc pump was on its way out, and it was going to cost quite a bit to replace. I dont want my next car to be costing a fortune to keep on the road if you know what i mean? Oh and has anybody driven any of the above? Opinions? Sorry to keep boring everyone with a what car next thread. I think ive probably got too much time on my hands, lol.

Maf's are weak, engine internals are ok, not as good as the new age engines so if you want 350+ then its advised to uprate.
DCCD is normally very reliable along with the diffs, so generally they are pretty reliable, but like most classics they can suffer from big end failure (due to the design of the crank, hence why people upgrade to the later twin scroll crank that is grooved and nitrated for better oil distribution
