hi guys just bought a newer steering wheel for my 94 sti but cant get the old one off ive had all the cowling off and have been at it with a hammer but it wont budge is there summat im doing wrong or does it have a locking device on the boss any advice greatly appreciated as i dont want to damage anything

 

if its never been off it would need a puller to remove it properly without damaging anything, i adapted a vauxhall steering wheel puller to remove my steering wheel.
