Default g/box overhaul/or new?

now my front diff's started to whine under load, its a 96 wrx import which ive only had for a few months, when you back off the beans and the revs go down and it quietens down to almost silent, all oil levels are ok going to do a change on the offchance itl help the situation but i doubt it. if i was going to get it rebuilt or simply buy new (either way its not going to be cheap i wouldnt have thought!!) are there any trusted places that people can recomend for overhauling or for me to buy new?! (other than subaru themself obviously, and im nowhere bloody near a subaru dealer, am in the south of england though so if need be a long tripcan be made if 100% essential) removing and refitting etc's not a problem just havent got the time or the knowledge to overhaul.

any ideas welcome thanks dale.

where in the south of england are you dale?? i have a 93 wrx and the diff in mine is going as well i think, something from the gear box is making a horrible metalic gearing meashing sound in all gears at all speeds on or off the clutch so im guessing its the diff, ive got a replacement box lined up from a 97 uk wrx so its worth checking out local subaru forums

im on the isle of wight. so getting anywhere's a ballache just getting off the island's expensive enough...

yeh could get a 2nd hand one, as a last resort i would but would rather get it overhauled or buy new (depending how the funds are at the time ha) dont mind so much having it off the road for a while ive still got the bike for transport. if only i could do 70mph everywhere itd be fine!
