Default exhaust resonator

just a quick one.how much differance will a resonated centre section make as opposed to a streight through on a classic?
mine has a blitz system but for some reason someone has welded a section of steel pipe in the centre section? f**k nos why as it still has the resonator in!
so im wanting to get this sorted and get a new centre section!

cheers

only difference is noise mate, the resonator section isn't inside the exhaust like a cat, instead it wraps around the outside so, your exhaust is straight through all be it with a silencer. I should know as I have one lol

Be careful as removing this can make the exhaust a bit boomy if you know what I mean, If its a good sounding exhaust you are after its all about the back box

if you're running a blitz it will probably already be pretty loud! what is the spec of your system ie is it a full decat etc?

mine is a 2.5" exhaust, I have a prodrive sports cat downpipe and the resonated centre section, its quiet enough so as not to give you a headache on a motorway run but still reminds you that you have something special under the bonnet, and give a lovely growl amd a roar when you floor it, I could go louder by removing the resonator but it may become too boomy in the cockpit and may fail noice levels at trackdays.

yea its a full blitz 3 inch system with a 3 inch decat downpipe so its already loud! just dont get why sumone had welded a length of steel tube in and ruind the centre pipe!

so probs best to go with another resonated centre section as it already makes the neighbours windows vibrate lol!!
