Default Car keeps cutting out!!!

I have had the car cut out on me three times over the past few days (just at traffic lights when I slow down to stop).

The rev needle drops when pulling up to the traffic lights with the clutch and brake pressed, the revs drop below 1000 and occasionly go as far as 0 revs and the car cuts out. The car starts up straight away after turning the key but it is getting on my nerves now.

Any ideas?

Does it do it at any time (engine hot/cold) when coming to a stand still?

Tony

It stopped happening since yesterday evening (idling around 700rpm and stopping fine now).

Could have been the rain I guess.

And its happened again this morning - in hot sunshine so cannot be the rain.

It runs okay but then when I press the clutch and brake at the same time, the rev needle shoots towards 0 revs and shoots back up to around 800revs. However, sometimes it hits 0 revs and simply cuts out.

I had a Scooby specialist carry out some fault checks on the MAF and it seems everything was okay and he blamed the rain. However, this has happened again now and it is quite warm and hasn't rained for a few days.

Someone on another forum suggested changing the spark plugs - could this be it?

I'm guessing ICV. They're known to get a bit clogged up, try giving it a clean but if you do take it apart, please make sure you have a brand new gasket.
