i was travelling down the m3 the other day !!!and all power went!!!!!there was no engine noises that were different from normal !!!!!i pulled over waited for recovery!!!!when they arrived to start up there was knocking noises that i have never heared before or when the power went!!!!!im wondering what this could be !!!!!?it sound s major i fear!!!but i really love this car and must have it fixed soon but would like some guidances before i take to garage as this im my first scooby!!!!!!

 

Bottom end gone? if so pretty major but it does give you an opportunity to have a good rebuild (expensive though).
David at Welcome to the API website has a very good reputation on here for his advice and rebuilds.
