hi my 93 wrx has strange noise from box i think
it clicks/taps gets faster with speed turns to wine a 80 ish but no change in different gears but noise goes at bit when back off car drives fine and box feels good
+ jacked drivers wheel up and it spins free ish i thorgth i would be stiff or locked

any ideas thank ray

 

sound like a tooth has chipped or come off so when power on you notice it (pinion driving the diff) when power off (diff driving the pinion) you wont get it as the load in the box changes.

any idea why wheel spins free it try to turn the others (ie props move slightly) but slips because the others are on ground or is that ok

i thorght is should lock only ( move a slight bit )
