Realistically how much bhp gain from exhaust
Hi guys i have bought a 55 plate wrx 300, the special edition wrx with ppp so 265 bhp. Was wondering how much bhp would a decat center/back box achieve?
After this whats the cheapest mod to gain 300bhp?

I swapped mine (STI) for a sports catted TSL system and reckon it felt quicker and the throttle response was sharper, (25 bhp maybe ?), however it took a re-map to release all the extra 75 bhp.

On my classic I swapped downpipe for a Sports Cat and already had decat centre and backbox - oh and panel filter.
When I first had it remapped 3 years ago it produced 230bhp before and 273bhp after remapping.
So panel filter/sports cat dpipe & centre decat/backbox only released 15bhp.

Not sure if yours is the 2.0 or 2.5 but View my Garage and it will give you some ideas.
300BHP+ You need to decat up-pipe (if 2.0), Sports cat or decat down pipe, bigger turbo, injectors and Intercooler. Thats when things start to get expensive..

I had a full Miltek decat fitted to my 55reg WRX PPP together with fuel pump and remap. I'm not bothered about pub bragging figures, however the difference in performance is huge. Far more urgent mid range, earlier spool up and boost, better economy and noise. Don't get hung on figures, especially as rolling roads can vary substantially. All IMHO of course
