Hopefully be a bit quieter this time so who's all coming along???

We are meeting up at the Shell Garage (opposite Grassicks BMW) in Perth around 9.30am then onto Dundee to meet the rest of the guys at the Riverside Snack Bar (Riverside drive,between the airport & Barnets) around 10am.

Then a cautious drive to Crail, watching out for Transit vans with cameras .

Not this time guys I'm afraid....unfortunately I'll be in Amsterdam doing quarter-miles in about 3 seconds on my hired bicycle!

Hope its a good one for you lot - fingers crossed its held at crail proper and not ice station zebra like last time eh ?

I'll catch you all at the next one though - no worries

For those that are not aware already, I run Crailthrashers Club. For £15 annual membership, you will get discount from 7 local companies..AWD,YETI RACING,STAR PERFORMANCE,MMV etc. & discount on mail order goodies from the likes of UNIVERSAL TURBOS,RACELOGIC,FORGE MOTORSPORT,NITROUS EXPRESS etc.
And members can also save up to £25 on their Crail 1/4 strip entry fees for the 2002 season.
As well as our regular meets for crail,we put on a club display area for the big magazine events and have social events in the summer (****-up & BBQ ).Also the club website with details of all the members cars, bulletin board, gallery etc. and our Yahoo chat group.
The club is open to all makes & models of cars and is a must for all drag racing enthusiasts, in fact half our members own Subarus..funny that

I fuel up on a Big Mac, the car prefers to munch on a Big Red or a Sam-wich but has been known to make do with the odd scooby snack

The W/I pump I use is no longer available I have had it a few years right enough, it was bought for my race cossie in 96 !
Looks like the best one (only one) now is the ERL. I think the full set up is approx £300, the big chunk being the pump.
If you are still going ahead with it, giz a shout and you can check out my install, I use ERL atomisers filters and pressure switches.
I don't think you really need the mapable version for street/drag. If it was serious circuit race stuff then maybe

You got ur big red thing pumped up for Sun ??

CC/Pete - you're right about that kit. The basic System 1 setup is all thats needed for normal cars. You set the pressure switch to a certain value and when the boost gets to this level the water is injected.

You control flowrate by using diff jet sizes


I went for System 2C for a couple of reasons. The main one was the UniChip will run 2 maps (with and without water injection) so that if the water injection fails (out of water or blocked ject etc etc) it will revert to the more retarded map for safety.

It will then automatically switch back to the advanced map when the WI is active again.

I also have a manual switch installed on the dash that lets me turn it on and off myself e.g. if its freezing outside (like it is for 6 months of the year here ) and again this switches the mapping used by the Unichip to run safely


I aint sure how the Link ECU you have handles WI tho so cant comment.


If you're interested I can show you my setup at Crail on the 24th March to help you decide. Its not mapped yet but its all fully installed into the car and Unichip ready for mapping (time is the issue)
