I'm hoping to get a PPP second hand and fit it myself. Does this invalidate my warranty? I need to know ASAP so please help as i might not get the sale if i don't find out tonight.

Tricky one. In theory no, but don't quote me on that. I would have to check with IM to be sure.

Do you have the knowledge to change the ECU (and in more modern cars, to not mess up the immobilisation unit)?

Maybe you could get a dealer to do the work, and confirm full warranty?
