Default TVR or not to TVR

I test drove a cerbera 4.2, 1998 model for the second time and have a huge dilema. Go for TVR or keep the scooby, 2005 WRX PPP with other mods, 290BHP-
Mileage for the next few years will be minimal around 7K

I really like the TVR and the insurance is not much more than the scoob, so am looking for any advice, because at the moment my heart is ruling my head

The TVR spec is
Cerbera, 4.2, 1998, Red, 1 owener, 27K miles, £14K

An engine rebuild can be costly, mine is the 4.5 and it was just done before I got it and cost IRO 7k to rebuild, saying that it did last 60k!

Mine will be up for grabs soon and the only thing that has gone wrong is the starter motor. Looking for 13k for mine when I come to sell it (a couple of months away) 1998, red, 4.5, 65k but rebuilt and will have 12 months MOT.

Try a 4.5, apparently a lot quicker than the 4.2

7k miles in a year will be ok, I wouldn't use it everyday, dry days only and keep it garaged!

I know a few people who have, or have owned TVR's and none have had serious issues.

I toy'd with the idea of a Tuscan about a year ago, and could have got an ok one for about £15k, but instead I bought an A3 which I've recently sold at a £4.5k loss... Looking at the price of Tuscan's and they're about the same, if not even up slightly on a year ago...

Cerbera should hold its money well, so even if you spend a bit on it you should see a decent return when you sell.

At the end of the day it's a genuine supercar for £14k - do it!!
