Question What is it with Merc's and their front fog lights?

First I thought I was imagining things but I've noticed more and more Mercedes Benz cars with one front fog light on and then it turns off only for it to come on again. Am I really imagining things or have other people noticed this strange phenomenon?

Well dullard me has noticed loads of Focus' with rear fogs on when it's not foggy. Is it easy to accidentally switch them on?

I use fogs on very dark backroads (when it's wet) so I can see the road surface more easily. I switch them off as soon as I get to busier bits or towns. Does annoy some people though, especially runners!
