Hi all. I've had my car off the road for about a week and a half, duff power steering pump.
The battery died, so charged it in situ. I also had the i/c off and fitted a oil temp sensor.
Trouble is now the car won't start, and the fuel pumps not priming.
Have i killed something whilst charging?
Any ideas would be most welcome

I had the same, blew the fuse pump fuse. Have a looky at the fuses to the bottom right of the steering wheel..

 

O yeah and it was a 15A that I blew for the fuel pump to not prime

 

Hi, thanks for the reply, just checked them, along with all the fuses under the bonnet, and their all good.
I've done an fault code read, no faults.
Could i have damaged something when charging the battery whilst connected?

 

I've been looking at the wiring diagrams, and it shows a fuel pump relay, which i can bypass, but also a fuel pump control module. Where is this?
I hear a relay click in, then out a couple seconds later, which sounds like the purging cycle. I this the ocntrol module?

 

Possibly the main fuse? But then again you'd get no electrics in the car at all. My car coped fine with charging it whilst allw as plugged in..
Double check the fuses, it sounds silly, but I did the same, checked all fuses and didn't see anything, but when I checked again the next night, I went through each and every fuse, and found one dead. Other than that I can't help any more. Sorry!

right, have sorted it, the fuel pump had stuck! I checked for power at the pump, which was there, gave it a thump, and it sprang into life! As i haven't used it for two weeks, and the cold weather, im putting it down to that.

 

That's how I fixed my dishwasher

 

It's a method which needs to be executed with skill and experience, the sort the girfriend doesn't understand!

 

dont forget sometimes u need a specaile coaxing tool like a hammer
