Default going to court ????

A mate of mine has got to go to court soon for an RTA which happened on an island when they collided with another car.

He was going arond the island and the other car was leaving the island from the middle lane.......bang they meet at the exit as the other driver drives into his front wing.

Would this sort of thing go to court normally or is this extreme ????

Theoretically the vehicle leaving the island has right of way. I woudnt consider it to be common though, no.

You haven't said in what circumstances it's going to Court ie... Insurance or Crown Prosecution?
I presume it's insurance and that being the case it's just the companies involved not wanting to admit liability, nothing new!!
You should always give way to traffic from the right but we all know what some drivers are like, totally driving in their own little world though we ALL do make mistakes and these things happen.
