Default Classic dash/speedo swap

Hi just a quick one, I've got a turbo 2000 and would like to switch the dash over to the sti type. Is it a straight swap (same plugs etc) and also would my mileage need to be adjusted ?

Thanks for any info

Whilst no one's answering, I'll throw in my two penn'eth...

The early 'phase 1' MY93-97 JDM dash/instrument binncle are the same as the UK 2000's MY94-97... EXCEPT that the dials are totally mirrored i.e.speedo and rev counters swapped positions and fuel and temp gauges too. This must impact on the wiring looms I would have thought, etc.

Also, for MOT purposes, you would have to fit either a speedo convertor, or different calibrated speedo dials to get the correct MPH reading. Plus, you'd have to stick MPH stickers over the KM/H on the speedo dial, etc...

However, before we go further, please answer the two questions below:

1) What year is your car?
2) May I ask why you want to replace the dash? Is it for the white dials, for example?

Thanks for your reply...Sorry i should of stated its a MY99, so the only speedo and rev counter switch places. Mine already have the white faces as standard, the reason i want to swap is that the rev counter goes round to 9k rather than 8k and also i'd prefer the rev counter to be in the middle as it is with the sti.

I know it sounds like alot of work for little/no gain but i personally prefer the style.
With there only being 2 gauges thats have switched place would you think it would be an easy swap ?

Again im aware of the kph/mph conversion needing to be carried out but thats easily enough sorted.

There was a guy selling some a while back. I asked if they would be a straight swap, and he said yes. But he was selling them, so...

Fair enough Biggs

Try emailing/PM Jolly Green Monster. He'll be able to advise you correctly/wisely. I know he's had his dash out at least once, lol

Hi

The V4 dash will physically fit in a V5/6 dash, however, the looms are different from memory. You need a V5/6 Sti dash.

Once you have the V5/V6 dash, you also need a speedo converter, then thats it, take about 10 minutes to swap over and it will work.
