Why do you want to fit a VTA 'dump valve'?

I admire your honesty. Theres a greater chance of it affecting your cars proper running, rather than not and it certainly wont add anything (other than noise).

'Wagons are brilliant cars, decried only by those who want to pretend that theyre rally drivers. For meetings look at the ESC forum on this site. Id advise getting used to what you have first and then improving the suspension (rear ARB and links then geo.) followed by the brakes. For more go youll need an improved fuel pump, either a de-cat downpipe or a used PPP sports cat downpipe and an ECUTek remap. On the original turbo thatll possibly see up to 275bhp-290bhp. Contrary to what Pete Croney would have had us believe, a backbox isnt good for 30bhp.....

Agree with all that although experience says centre decat and uprated intercooler hose + map gives 270+bhp no need for a filter, special plugs, fuel pump etc.

Complete decat, fuel pump, plugs, and filter (but no hoses) plus map = 290bhp

Both cars mapped by Andyf both 03 WRX's. As GC8 says though a VTA is likely to cause you issues, a lot of people take them off again for that reason so look in the for sale section on here for a 'bargain'

You won't regret the wagon though.

5t.

Id always replace the fuel pump. I wasnt clear about the de-cat though: as stated remove all factory catalytic convertors. Id try to find a PPP sports cat from a breakers.
