Unhappy

Has anyone had troubles with the synchro in 4th gear on a my00. I had trouble selecting fourth gear from third or fifth, you could on engage it if you dropped the clutch to the floor, let it coast for about five seconds then move the stick to 4 then let the clutch up. I took it back to t&c who replaced the baulk end bearing, lay shaft bearings, gaskets and synchros in third and fourth. The gearbox only had 16500 miles on it! The clutch also judders in first, either hot or cold, but it does not do it every time. I cure it by slipping the clutch and blipping the throttle, t&c say there is nothing wrong with the clutch or release bearing, I am now waiting for a subaru service engineer to look at my car! One last thing the clutch stinks if you use reverse, anybody else suffered these problems?

never done 4th gear synchros but plenty of 3rd gear synchros. as for the clutch dealers fit new clutch cover , flywheel , friction plate , bearing. you won't see anything wrong with it but fitting all that lot cures it

Thanks for that, it has been driving me up the wall! I have got some ammo to chuck at t&c now.
