are you after a full dog box, or just an uprated gearbox?

Modena dog boxes are widely used in Subaru Rally cars and seem to be about the best option around for use in the GpA and N cars. Bits are available through TEG sport and they seem as reliable and user friendly as any dog box out there. Its worth remembering though that a Dog box will require mor maintenance than a synchro and will be more expensive to run.

I currently run a Quaife dog in my GC8 and would swap to a Modena if I could afford it.

sorry should have made myself clear, i've got a ppg straight cut box, however its a ppg gearset with standard, although uprated, selectors etc.

a dog box refers to the dog engagement which is different to a standard selector system, is that what your after or just the uprated gearset?

Modena make some very good gear kits, but they are quite expensive.

PPG have an up rated 5 speed gear kit to fit into the 6 speed case. This is rated to over 1000bhp

I have a modena box in my rally car , and find it great , done 4 events since it was last stripped as I broke reverse trying to get out of a ditch , it seems to be a strong box. you get lightning quick gearchanges with them .
I have plated front and rear diffs and electric centre one with a neetronics diff controler

Had one in my rally car, found the box to be very smooth and mega gearchanges - BUT this comes at the expense of the dogs wearing quickly. replacement gears are anything over £200.00 each and so are the slip rings.

In my experience I found TEG to be useless for backup and Frank the Modena rep is about the same.

What application are you using the box for rallying or just on the road?

Cheers
