Default Quickshift/shortshift kit advice needed

hi all, im booking my car in for a gearbox rebuild in the very near future and what to have a kit fitted whilst its booked in. I been looking around and have only really seen kits on ebay for £20-£30, are theses any good?? I been looking for the prodrive quickshift but they seem to be hard to come by would any of these kits give the same feel as the kit used in the newage sti box??

cheers

Lee

Get a B&M quickshift, shortens the throw and feels much more sniccy (sp?)

the prodrive one is without doubt the best as its the complete linkage not just a short shaft

The P1 box comes with one or you can buy them separately...you can run just a quick-shift shifter too which makes the throw even shorter. I have both in my wagon and I really like the way gear changes feel.

I bought one of ebay and found it worse than the oe one. I have just bought this one and some new bushes which I'm hoping will be a lot better. The shifter is a GFB one from America. Go for the B&W or another good make, avoid the cheap ebay stuff.

I have a ebay one, 1st thing is I found on the cheaper ones is your standard gearknob doesnt fit straight back on,
Id hate to think how little throw there is with the P1 linkage and a altered lever,
The throw with just a lever on mine is awesome, its about 80mm from 1st to 2nd,
I really notice when I get out of the scoob and into the Passat lol

its very short and feels very positive, changes feel faster and you get a more positive feeling of engagement when changing. Everyone that drives it comments on how noce the gear change is.

The shafts the same length, it's the pivot point that shortens the throw.
I got mine off ebay too, only paid £15 to my door! It works a treat, but as said above, the gear **** didn't fit back on, as the new shaft was thinner. I was after a new **** anyway, so not a problem.
