I'm 90% (lol) certain your turbo is failing. Thrust bearing is prob on way out causing the lubricating oil to get into the compressor side (hence oil in intercooler pipes), and also in the exhaust housing (oil being burnt off on the hot exhaust parts - hence the smoke).

Is the smoke bluey-white in colour?

How well did you treat it? Did you always let it cool down for a couple of mins immediately after a spirited drive, before shutting down the engine? Did you at least let the coolant get up to temp before using meaningful/max boost, etc, etc.? What grade oil do you use? How often did you change it, etc, etc.?

If you abused it i.e. not following the above procedures, etc, then it's what's prob brought it on.

I take care of it very as well as i have had 3 engine failures. I use siloklene 15w-50, will probably change now to a 10w-50 as its gettin cold.

If the turbo has gone i suppose its a good excuse for a rotated inlet and GT30 configuration

Not a scooby expert but would say check the engine is breathing correctly.
Mate of mine with a Focus RS engined Fiesta had this problem.
Two tuning experts had the car, two new turbos fitted, spent loads of money and still the same.
Removed each engine breather and blew down them to find one blocked!
Same result if these tubes are kinked, gunk'ed up or a one-way valve is stuck.
Turned out this blockage was causing the breathers to siphon the oil into the inter cooler and burn oil.
Only a thought and hope it is a possible cheap cure.

Mainly the idiot who built them but by having 3 engines go in less then a year makes you becoe very very precautious

Mmmm, judging by the gunk deposite I would say this is the probable cause. Will check it tomorrow, as I am not that mechanicly minded can you or someone tell me which pipes the breathers are

fitted a new turbo to mine as it was smoking now and again on boost after being pussied around for a few days

would get a little puff of smoke then it would clear

new turbo did not fix it

i fitted a catch can instead and the breathers were oily as hell, never had a problem since
