Its a little metal thingy that sits under the bonnet scoop and protrudes up into the scoop to angle air towards the front as well as the rear of the intercooler.

Its a piece of cake to fit and will help the intercooler get more air through it come summer when its really needed

The new STi UK has on built into the scoop so it must do something

Just thought I'd give it a thumbs up and say it definitely seems to work, feels a bit more urge at high speeds...

Nice one BladeRunner

Agreed - the Butt-ometer says there's a small increase in "urgency" but I STILL haven't had a chance to do some testing....perhaps this weekend....

I bought one of these a year or so back.
The biggest difference seems to be in summer time rather than in winter. In winter there's no difference that I can see so off it goes. I put it back on around April/May time and it certainly helps.

Why on earth take it off in Winter?! If it makes no difference, why not leave it on?! Weird

Hi all,

Just thought you may be interested ....

I am designing a splitter for Sti models with larger intercoolers. I hope to have a prototype made in a week or so and I will post pictures. After that I will sell the items for a small mark up on fabrication costs. All polished stainless sheet ....

Cheers

Neil,

It *should* work in the winter just as well as in the summer????

I'm going to try and prove this at the weekend....

Another vote of confidence from me too.

Immediately seem to make the car feel smoother, and give a teeny bit more shove across the revs.

Best £25 quid on car-tuning I've ever spent. You only have to look at your intercooler before you fit one, to see where all the airflow used to go...

I actually need a new one as my old one broke when a stone went in the scoop at about, erm, xxx mph. Busted the scoop splitter, saved the intercooler though

Sorry for being thick. Is someone making these? I don't do this sort of DIY even though I can do circuits? Can I have one please?

Wink

I made one myself out of some thin aluminium from a DIY shop. Took it off though after speaking to a specialist as they didn't think splitters were up to much.

My mate made one as well (I think), dunno if he rated it any better than without though? Not hard to knock one up yourself.....

See how you are gonna become "MR SCOOB DI bl dy Y"

Is there anything you won't do?

Call me and tell me more about this decision changing information you had. Am intrigued as to it's another of these......

"Tell 'em it's good and they'll never know that it makes no difference at all, but we earn a mint outta them" ...type products.

Why don't Subaru fit them as standard? along with a Dawes and better brakes and uprated this that and the other? Eh?

If you email me, by return I will send a photo of a splitter I am testing. A local specialist is also going to test it and measure any reduction in IC temperature.

Cheers all

Julian
