What are the two sensors at the back of my 98 turbo manual gearbox?, they are just under the selector arm,i managed to crush the cables on them both whilst installing the box ,ive driven the car but nothing seems to be wrong but i dont want to take any chances.

 

one or maybe both are for the reverse light

 

Cheers Muzza but my reverse light works fine...

 

i they snapped then or just crushed ?

 

both pairs of wires are snapped so i disconected the connecters to save getting any issues from bare wire touching metal.

 

1 Switch is the reverse light switch & supplies an earth to switch them on..

The other tells the ECU when the gearbox is in neutral.

thanks phil strange that the reverse light works though,im sure i disconnected it. i better check.
