Cool

Am I right in thinking that if I get a Link fitted to my car then I will have to remove it when my car goes in for it's main dealer services?

Thumbs up

Someone told me that they swapped the original ECU back in before servicing. That must mean that the link retains it's programming without the cars battery - right?

The Link does retain the map if you swap it out - apparently a fairly easy thing to do. I was just wondering if it was strictly necessary at servicing.....I think it probably is though...

It depends how understanding your dealer is. I used to leave my Link ECU in place, but they were fully aware that it was there.

The only thing is that the Select Monitor (Subaru diagnosis computer) will not recognise the Link ECU.

If your dealer is quite strict about the ECU modifications, then use the standard ECU, but depending on the state of tune of the car, drive it there and back gently.

Hope this helps
Andy

Hi Simon,
If you use Simpsons then I'm sure there wont be a problem. This is who I use. Although I did think it was funny when they said the select monitor didnt work
