6 paddle sprung clutch use
I'm interested in hearing reports from those who have used a 6 paddle sprung clutch.
Car is a track toy, but does get driven to events. Certainly not a daily driver.
Running 450/500
I dont want speculation thank you, just the opinions from people who have been there done that

I have a 6 paddle sprung Exedy Hyper with 5.7 kg fly in my remapped 03STi used mostly for track and the odd day out.
Took about 1000 miles to settle down as the chatter was difficult to manage at first. Now its run in, it is a little abrupt and not really practical or advisable to hold at the biting point (ie not designed to be used like this) as it will still chatter a bit. When pulling away you need to move through the biting point smoothly without stopping with the right amount of gas. Personally I not sure about it on public roads (ok to drive to events? - I'd say yes) but it is fabulous on track where the low inertia and positive action feel great.

cheers for the review, it seems to be the common theme that they suck in traffic but are great on the black stuff.
I assume then that full bore launches on the strip are a hoot?
also, the fact they are a 1/3rd of the price of twinplate is a bonus

I've got an ACT 6 paddle sprung centre clutch waiting to go in my car, little worried about what it's going to be like to use, but for the cost difference of a twin plate i had to give it a go.
Let u know how i get on with it.

I bought this second hand:

It was a lovely clutch. Same feel as an Exedy uprated organic and coped with 450bhp from a GT30R fed 2.5L Was used as a daily driver and wasn't snatchy in traffic etc.
Cheers

Dunx, Mine was fitted by Scoobyclinic. Are you sure we are talking about the same clutch. My Exedy Hyper single came with alloy cover assembly and lightweight steel flywheel and cost what it says on SC website (more than your figure).
Don't want to put people off about driving in traffic, its not impossible you just have to pay attention with your feet.

Cheers, D1ccy, I like driving, so don't mind doing the work !

P.S. Plus VAT it comes to around £700 but if the flywheel isn't included.....
A good buy if availability is sensible !

From: Over 500ft/lbs of torque @ just 1.1bar
Peanuts: Yours has been dispatched and will be at the garage tomorrow
wrxginge: It should settle down more as you put some decent miles on it. 480ft/lbs of torque is a great figure, what spec is that on?

Coincidentally there's a guy called morbs on 22B with an internally gated GT30 on a 2.1 stroker that was mapped at Surrey RR yesterday, his car made 480lbft aswell, I don't suppose yours made 511bhp did it?

Had my ACT fitted on friday, and am pleased with it. Was a bit worried about weather i'd even be able to drive the car.
It's surpirsingly easy to use, the pedal is quite firm compared to the exedy organic i had, but my mrs can push it down so can't be to bad.
There is even a bit of a bite point, not completely on/off which is what i was worried about. So far only stalled it once, little juddery sometimes but at least it doesn't slip

Dean, don't give it a hard time for the first few hundred miles. These things need a fair bit of bedding in. Mine slipped a bit when given beans at first until all the high spots were gone so be careful not to make it slip during this period as overheating will kill it.
Drove my car back from the tuning shop today.
ACT 6 paddle clutch and its a doddle to use.
Feels almost the same as my old Exedy organic uprated in use, didsnt stall once and didnt over cook the revs either.
Top clutch at a top top price
